Southern Sudan seminar
Am Morgen ließen wir uns ein wenig Zeit, ins Institut zugelangen, wo ich dann mit meiner Arbeit fortfuhr, complete the invitation envelopes - the label to the German Embassy and the red "Invitation" stamp each envelope impose a seal. I also ordered a call to the printer who promised to deliver the orders today, and even by self-accommodate. The Director had to look when a fax came, all at a seminar on "Sudan - Two years after the Comprehensive Peace Agreement: The Challenge of consolidating peace".! Could invite "That sounds interesting as well as lunch is still connected ... I have unfortunately been something else before ...". I read the description of me then and I was sorry not to go, because it so perfectly suited my peace research studies. Then I thought that Tilman probably had also wanted to come along and simply ask our boss if he could do without us and give the permission to go there without him (which is always such a thing ... In principle, yes interns organizations may not formally represent). We got the permission without any problems and were so a few minutes later on the way to Hilton. There they found the seminar again in the same room as the last session, only this time even better equipped and decorated with roses or eyespot. How took the same seats as last time, but in addition to the writing pad, pen, water and roses gabs this time also a translation device for each (English and French).
to equal the start could we even provide you with coffee and cake and got to know the for the organization in charge of the ISS (Institute for Security Studies) who gave us his business card and asked him to put on the mailing list of the Institute for future events . So have a first recruitment, which can be seen in the debriefing and evaluation of our independent enterprise.
The seminar today was really great! The speakers really well, especially the first lady - a researcher from South Africa showed great skills, so I thought to myself all the time: just I would like the later can! The
Handling worked much better than last time (no overloaded power points), unfortunately they could not run anything because the time was too short, therefore, the last film touched only briefly.
The second speaker, the Sudanese ambassador was talking without visual aid, but was also involved in the technology, since during his 20-minute lecture, the technicians had to adjust the screen of the Hiltons and all now and then to tilt the speaker threatened. The subsequent discussion (with far less paperwork and credits this time) brought interesting questions and - concrete answers forth. It felt more sorry that I did not have enough background knowledge about the individual performances, history, political and geographical situation of Sudan and took me quite firmly, benefit from a thorough follow-up to it yet.
The subsequent lunch, we took back in the atrium, and I behaved myself, the two Russian diplomats to pester me with my next great Russian ;-) just because one is forced upon the other party did not seem too happy. In any case, I finally got back from a meat diet (or actually 2 .... just as two cycles at the dessert).
As a small dinner walk, we went from Hilton walk to Arat Kilo and took until the minibus there.
in the Back Institute, I realized that the lazy fools had not yet delivered from the printing and still had time to call, this time I talked to the guy himself and he promised to be there between 16:30-17:00 clock. Ok ... so stay here a bit longer was I so far could not care less because I wanted to sift through anyway once the library (which I've already done for ages and had not always done). There I was not really the desired philosophers, but some works that are for my peace research very interesting! Unbelievable! A track I wrote off at once. Tomorrow I will be there weiterrecherchieren.
Um 17:00 Uhr rief der Koffer dann selber an und versprach mir hoch und heilig, morgen in der Früh zu liefern. Um 9:30 Uhr.... Naja – da bin ich mal gespannt!!!
