Mensuration Of Circles Problems

Addendum: Rain, rain, rain

are increasingly aware of the irony I to have named my blog "Ethiopian Summer", although here there is actually the time of the Ethiopian winter. Although I was scared away, make a name change to "Ethiopian winter" because geographically would be at least as absurd, I am indeed still in the northern hemisphere - thus is the summer - except that the rainy season (the coldest time here) just means that it is called "winter".
It's Saturday and I'm sitting on my Room. Yes, I am the servant. This time less, because I lust after that because of my laziness, but rather because I was condemned to the weather. Rain is one thing - the relentless pelting, within seconds (and I speak here of not more than 3-5 seconds!) Everything soaking rain that seems to come from all sides (it is really unlikely thick drop) is the one quite another thing! And today I was right to stay in the house and make no sightseeing: The rain was not, as it is usually the case. Or at least was weaker, then the more lively again started. I spend time to read my book finished: "African fever". Vroni it has given me in terms of my internship for my birthday. The author, a Polish journalist and foreign correspondent, describes it, the impressions of his travels in many African countries, including Ethiopia, is represented. Many impressions can I join, some disagree with me (which it certainly is that but a couple of years have passed). Some is clearer to me. Above all, that I was not disappointed the impression that people here go out of another self and world view. I think one of his descriptions has taken it quite well: the difficult living conditions bring many areas of Africa with it, is a solitary life is often impossible. As a result (which is observable and was facing me by Ethiopians / internal mentioned) the fact that these people are almost never alone. On the road, they never go alone, they always find someone to whom they join, is at work constantly interacting: is it just any visitors, then quickly over into the next office or on a call. On a larger scale, this means that there is a strong family bond. And then the family are so many people that is already difficult to understand for me. In the end, then laps over the whole membership in the ethical to particular ethnic groups. The rival to oppress and dominate each other (killed in the worst case). There are not a homogenous nation state. The national language Amharic was originally the language of the second largest population group, the Amhara. They also represent the spiritual, political and economic elite present any wonder that just at the university, educational institution for future intellectual, the potential for conflict is particularly high. One student complained: The address of a professor in the classroom is based on ethnic group membership: "You, Oromo ",...

A piece of Ethiopian history:
The regime Mengistu was overthrown after 17 years of rule in the summer of 1991 (so this is not so long ago). The leader himself fled to Zimbabwe, where he lingers to this day. At his command were killed over 30 000 people (presumably it was much more, as 100 000 are referred to as "conservative source", others speak of 300 000). Comparatively, one could assume so again, it would be the magnitude of Klagenfurt.
The fate of his army is remarkable is that Mengistu had built south of Moscow with the help of the largest army of the Sahara Africa: 400 000 troops, missiles and chemical weapons. As
